Dr. Braun was born and raised in Quito-Ecuador. After experiencing incredible hands-on training in Mexico by delivering babies without electricity on top of a mountain to managing peritoneal dialysis on my own as a student.

I took the opportunity to move to Chicago and finish my training in Internal Medicine. 3 years of residency plus 1 year of chief residency and off I went to change the world. Or so I thought… After 15 years of practicing in different settings (teaching hospital, clinic) I had a eureka moment. I was not able to change the world because working for a medical system limited my passion for caring for people.

So I immersed myself to learn about a model called Direct Primary Care. And realized, I was able to develop a better connection with patients in order to understand their concerns. I then realized it’s good medicine to use different tools to help patients help themselves by teaching nutrition and self-care.

At a personal level, I realized I can also have family quality time so now with Healthee MD I can be with my husband, three wonderful little munchkins and travel.
